So for the past couple of years I've been toying with the idea of building an EFI system for my VW. I recently bought some of the electronic components to do this. Including a Megasquirt build it yourself EFI brain, a stimulator board to test the brain during the build process, a relay board, and other misc EFi parts. I also have most of the hardware as well, several different size and styles of throttle bodies, some stock aircooled VW and other's off of junk yard cars. I have a lot to do with the actual implementation onto whatever car I end up getting.

Here are some photos of the build so far.

Electronic components arrived:

Starting to solder the components to the main MS2 V3.0 board:

4 Bar sensor for barometric correction! meaning altitude changes will have nothing on this once its up and running.

A buddy of mine in Albuquerque put a mega squirt on his CJ 7 and loved it. It took some toying with to get it dialed in .......buyt once he did it worked great.

Cool! I'm going a little different route with my EFI (CB), but I like the idea of efi on older cars. I'd def like to see your induction.

I think I talked to you repairman.. not sure where but I remember talking to someone about CB's kit. If its you, I think you are aware of others issues with it and I wish you all the best with it. I'd love to hear a success story from their setup.

I completed the brain yesterday morning and I'll post up some photos sometime today. I tested it with the stimulator and my laptop with success. Now getting it dialed in on the engine its going to will be a whole other issues. Definitely will be a learning curve for sure.
